Process

A process designed for quiet launches.

Clear phases, short feedback loops and no surprises. Here’s how a project with ShipNSleep runs, from the first call to long after launch.

Our release checklist

Yes, we deploy on Fridays.

Not because we like living dangerously. Because of everything that happens before anyone presses the button.

  1. 01 Tested before it’s trusted

Automated tests run on every change. If something breaks, we find out long before you do.

  2. 02 You see it before it ships

Every feature gets a private preview link. You click through it, we fix what’s off, then it goes live.

  3. 03 Small releases, easy undo

We ship in small, reversible steps. Rolling back is a button, not a weekend.

  4. 04 Watched while we sleep

Monitoring and alerts go live with every launch, so a person hears about a problem before your customers do.

  5. 05 Written down

Architecture notes, runbooks and a clean handover. Nothing depends on one person’s memory.

  6. 06 Yours from day one

Code, accounts and infrastructure live under your name. No lock-in, no hostage situations.

  7. 07 Secure by default

Least-privilege access, secrets kept out of code, dependencies kept current.

  8. 08 No surprises

Weekly demos, honest estimates and early warnings. You always know what’s done, what’s next and what’s at risk.

8 of 8 checks passed Safe to ship. Safe to sleep.

Step by step

Six phases. One rhythm.

Every phase ends with something you can see, click or sign. Durations are typical ranges; your proposal will have real dates.

  1. Intro call

    30 minutes, free

Tell us what you’re building and why. We’ll ask plenty of questions, share first thoughts, and say honestly whether we’re the right team for it.

No slides and no sales pitch. We want to understand the problem, your users, your constraints and what success looks like to you. If we aren’t the right fit, we’ll tell you and, where we can, point you to someone who is.

From you A rough description of the idea or problem. Notes, sketches and links all help.

You get A clear next step, even if it isn’t us.

  2. Discovery

    Usually 1–2 weeks

We map your users, goals and constraints, then turn them into a scoped plan: features, architecture, risks and milestones.

Workshops with the people who know the problem best, a review of anything that already exists, and a technical plan. We separate what the first version needs from what can wait, and we write down the risks instead of hoping they go away.

From you Time with the decision-maker and the people closest to the problem.

You get A written proposal with scope, timeline and a fixed price.

  3. Design

    Usually 2–4 weeks

User flows, wireframes and a clickable prototype first; visual design and a component system after. You review in short loops.

We test the riskiest ideas with a prototype before polishing anything. Once the flows feel right, we design the interface and the reusable components the build will rely on.

From you Feedback within a couple of working days, and access to a few real users if possible.

You get A prototype you can click through and test.

  4. Build

    Weekly cycles

We build in short cycles with a demo every week. Each feature gets a preview link and automated tests before it’s merged.

You’ll see working software from the first weeks, not a big reveal at the end. Progress lives on a shared board, priorities can change between cycles, and anything at risk is flagged early.

From you A weekly check-in and quick decisions when trade-offs come up.

You get Working software you can see every week.

  5. Launch

    The quiet part

Staged rollout, monitoring and a rehearsed rollback plan. Store submissions and DNS changes are planned days ahead, not hours.

By launch day the hard work is done: the release has been tested, previewed and rehearsed. We roll out gradually, watch the numbers closely and keep a one-click way back if anything looks wrong.

From you Your sign-off on the release, and someone to share the news.

You get A launch day that feels uneventful. That’s the point.

  6. Care

    Ongoing

We monitor, fix and improve. Or we hand everything to your team with documentation, access and a proper walkthrough.

Launches come with a period of close attention and fixes. After that, you choose: ongoing support and new features with us, or a clean handover to your own developers. Either way, everything is already yours.

From you Feedback from real users, and a say in what comes next.

You get Software that keeps working long after launch night.

During the build

A typical week with ShipNSleep.

The same rhythm every week, so you always know when to expect progress, and when we’ll need you.

  1. Monday

    Priorities agreed

A short call or written note to confirm the goals for the week.

  2. Daily

    Written updates

Brief async updates in a shared channel. You never have to chase us.

  3. Midweek

    Preview links

Finished features land on private links for you to try on any device.

  4. Friday

    Demo and release

A walkthrough of what shipped, notes on what’s next, and a calm release. Yes, on a Friday.

Engagement models

Three ways to work together.

Pick the shape that fits the work. You can always switch later: plenty of projects start as an audit and grow into a build.

Start a project

Let’s make your launch the boring kind.

Tell us about your idea, product or problem. A real person will reply within one working day with honest first thoughts, not a sales script.
